2016 was a year for trying new and forgotten products, reading more books and reviving my love for all things Benefit. On the topic of books, #Girlboss was my all time favourite book to read, especially when lazing around the pool on holiday after climbing Montaña de Guaza. If you're yet to read it, I definitely recommend it!
Now onto my fave products, I'll be honest, 18 year old me used to absolutely live and breathe Benefit. Whenever I had the money I'd always purchase the latest product because bloggers raved about them; yet a year on I completely fell out of love but fast forward two or three years and the love affair has revived!
One of my go to mascaras has to be Benefit's They're Real (Urban Decay's Perversion is number one for me!), it really covers the lashes, gives that extra length and has amazing staying power. It's definitely one I'll be picking up time and time again. Primers have always been a massive hit and miss for me, my skin can be temperamental so finding the right one can be a pain in the arse; last year my skin was very combinational especially with all the stress about my placement and back to back university deadlines. So whilst in London, I headed down to Benefit and quizzed the girls there, POREfessional was recommended and haven't looked back since. Airbrushing the skin so it's completely smooth and hides all those pores, sometimes I'll simply wear POREfessional and either Pervsion or They're Real because it's really that good! The Browvo Conditioning Primer was one of the presents my brother bought me for Christmas and not a day has gone by were I haven't worn it, it apparently aids growth and although I wouldn't say it's a huge amount, my brows are slightly thicker now than they were the beginning of December!
To make my full coverage foundation that little more dewy I'll use the Mac Strobe Cream, it's lightweight and feels fresh on the face too without giving that look of too much makeup. But before I apply my strobe cream, I always use the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes and to hide some scars, as it's a firm favourite.
And finally, my favourite of all the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine 9 'Nude in Private'. It has the most luxurious texture I have ever come across and isn't drying on the lips either. I'm not usually a fan of darker nudes but this is absolutely divine and my go-to lipstick of all time!
What were your favourite products last year? Have they made it into 2017?
