Lifestyle | Stopping blogging

photo stopping-blogging_zpsu85rvjre.png It's been a while since I've posted on here, you've probably noticed I rarely interact with bloggers on social media too or if I do it's to the bloggers I've followed from day one and appreciate both them and their blog a significant amount.

I've noticed recently that blogging just isn't what it used to be, before I'd love coming home from college/university enjoying an hour or two catching up on reading blogs and writing my own; but now there are so many 'bloggers' in the community and it's great don't get me wrong, but it's just not a friendly place like it used to be. There is so much cattiness and competition, I don't think it should be like that. I remember first starting out and asking other bloggers for help, sure I'd be waiting a day or two for a reply but they would always help out and there'd be a follow up email a few months down the line to see how I was getting on, and it was absolutely lovely.

Now to me, it's a case of who can work with the biggest brand, who has more advertises, more followers, more page views etc. What happened to blogging for a hobby? For relaxation? Sure people's aim to be noticed and have those die-hard followers who always have your back, I get it. But for me it's ruined the blogging community, so much so, I don't see it as a community anymore. Sometimes logging into Twitter is an absolute nightmare, you're hit with the "Have you read my blog featuring this brand, that brand and this other brand!" I know I sound catty, but seriously where has the fun gone from blogging?

The hashtags, #bbloggers, #fbloggers and #lbloggers is so spammy these days and before it used to be a place where you could ask a question and someone following that hashtag would help you out but now it's all "Read my blog!!"

It's a shame, because I used to fully enjoy blogging and now, it's just not what it used to be..
