2013 Favourites | Make Up

Yeah I know, jumping on the bandwagon or what? But these posts are becoming a fast favourite and I've loved reading so many of them. It's a real insight to what other bloggers are loving and then make me love them and spend silly amounts of money! For me to have favourites throughout the whole of 2013 is quite the irregular occurrence, I like to change things around every now and then, but these products have stayed in their rightful place.

Clinique Superbalanced Makeup
It's not heavy like you'd think, neither is it really light, it's in between and perfect. What I like the most about this foundation is it's not really like others, it's quite creamy and extremely easy to blend perfectly into the skin, I don't even have to use powder to set this, which with some foundations that I've used in the past I've had to. It leaves a slight dewy look to the complexion, but it's not overly dewy which with some foundations I have definitely experienced. They'll be a full review on this very soon, promise!

Benefit Brow Zings
I remember buying this, I was with my then boyfriend and got so angry one day with my pencil I decided it was time to up my game and get something better for my brows. Not a day goes by when I'm not filling my brows in properly emphasising on the properly, in my eyes pencils are bad. Very bad. Will never be used again bad. I used to apply the wax, then add the power to my brows but if it's just a casual everyday make up I'll stick to using the powder alone, but when I'm going out for the night, the wax is back. It's nice to be able to switch up this product a little bit, the wax can even be used by itself to add a slight tone to the brows. Definitely a firm fav.

Stila "in the light" Palette
My first ever palette and has been used every day. With it being my first palette it's a slight bias opinion as there's nothing to really compare it to; however I love the mixture between the matte and shimmer. I'm quite the neutral type, bit bold eye make up really freaks me out on myself personally, I prefer to keep everything to minimum, which is why this has become a firm favourite.

Benefit Fake Up Hydrating Crease Control Concealer
The moment this hit the Benefit counters I bought it, didn't think twice about the price tag. It's forever being dotted under my eyes to add that little bit of hydration to that specific under-eye area. Whenever I've gone without it, I can really tell as my eyes don't look as bright as usual, I look rather tired and run down if I'm honest. The one thing that makes this my favourite concealer/hydrator is the vitamin E and apple seed extract ring, that definitely locks in the moisture that's well needed.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I bought my mum a set which had this in probably two Christmas' ago and always used to pinch a bit whenever I was down visiting, but midway through 2013 I took the plunge and bought my own. Every day after brushing my teeth and/or appealing lip products I always scrub my lips with this, they're ever so soft and smooth. Clears away any dry patches, ensuring the lip products glides across the lips smoothly. Did I mention it's edible? Probably the real reason why it's one of my favs!

Bourjois Cream Blush 03 - Rose Tender
This was the first cream blush I'd ever tried and boy I haven't gone back to powder blushes since. They're easy to blend, always look neutral and Rose Tender is flattering against my skin tone. Definitely going to be purchasing this again.

Clinique High Impact Mascara
Now this is one of those mascaras I wanted to save for best, but I couldn't and can't. I refused. You might say "All volume mascaras are the same" oh no, this one is different. Twisted and wiggling from the root of the lashes to the very top it's like I'm wearing false lashes; there's so much volume and it's definitely high impact. I got this around September/October time as a free gift for spending over £30 on Clinique products and will never look back. A full review is coming on this and other Clinique goodies soon!

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick - High Heels
With Revlon being my go to lip product brand I was intrigued as to what all the fuss was about when these hit the stands. Feeling a bit pink that day I opted for High Heels, a delicate pink that's your lips but better sort of pink; something that can be worn during the day and also the night. It took over my other Revlon lip butters and Topshop lipsticks which were my all time favourites. But this is my go to shade for all year round.

Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss - A Lister
I'm going to be doing a review on the full range of these, so I won't give too much away. A Lister is my all time favourite shade, whenever I'm not wearing my Revlon lipstick it's this gloss I go for, it's hydrating, glossy, nude-like and not at all sticky. Everything I look for in a gloss but more.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder - Champagne
Powder is a must whenever I wear BB cream or my Maybelline Fit Me foundation; they both make me look oily, therefore with this transparent powder I get a nice matte effect on my oily t-zone but it's also not dampening or brightening the colour of my foundation making me look odd. Considering it's relatively inexpensive it's something that's always in my bag whether it's during the day or out for the night, it's a handy little product and definitely something I've never changed.
