Benefit They're Real! Mascara £18.50 - Benefit
Ever since I saw my friends eye shadow palette by Benefit last year, I wanted to have something Benefit in my make up bag. So around came Christmas and this appeared on my Christmas list. Having never tried this or tested it I relied on the statistics shown on the box, and I can say they are damn right! I previously used Avon, Rimmel and Bourjois but now I realise what it is that I've been missing. There are a few pros and cons with that mascara but overall I'm pleased and will definitely purchase this once it runs out.
The name of the product "they're Real!" really emphasises the point of the mascara. My eyelashes are normally quite straight so I do have to use eyelash curlers and normally do when using this product. But I can say this mascara makes my eyelashes look extremely long, and with the help of the little ball I can get those silly little eyelashes that never seem to get mascara on them! The brush as you can see has a slight curve in the middle, this little curve (for me) works wonders it's as if it moulds to my eye shape and covers every lash. When applying you are meant to wiggle the brush from left to right, this ensures plenty of coverage but when in a rush I usually just apply a quick up from the roots to the tip brush; I feel the wiggling effect does the full monty but for a quick application the up from roots to tip is just as well.
There are a few cons with this product but they are ever so small, and definitely haven't put me off the thought of another purchase of this product. The stopper within the mascara seems to be a little too unhelpful, every time I pull the brush out of the bottle/tube I have to scrape excess mascara off the brush onto the top of the bottle/tube. This isn't a huge problem but when in a rush in a morning it's frustrating forgetting to wipe excess product off, which then results into sometimes clumpy lashes if not using the wiggling effect! Sometimes even when taking time with my application there are very little clumps which can be difficult to remove, even when applying the wiggle effect the clumps still appear I guess they'll always be a few clumps I'm just picky! My final issue is the hardness of the mascara, firstly it does look soft on the eyelashes but when it comes to taking it off, one word - ouch.
If any of you lovelies have a nice soft method of removing mascara, please let me know! My eyelashes will be no more soon :(
